W in Honolulu renamed The Lotus

Castle Resorts & Hotels is the new operator of the W Honolulu-Diamond Head hotel. The boutique property has been renamed The Lotos at Diamond Head.

Castle manages 21 properties, condos and hotels, throughout Hawaii.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts had managed the 51-room hotel as a W since 1999. Starwood ended its management contract on Jan. 9.

The hotel, owned by Hawaii hotel developer Brian Anderson, faces foreclosure. Banks foreclosed on two properties owned by Anderson, the Ilikai in Waikiki and the ResortQuest Aloha Beach Hotel Kauai, last fall.
