NEW YORK --
Worldhotels, an independent hotel sales, marketing and distribution
firm, has added the WW GDS chain code.
The new code, which
takes affect on July 12, will be the chain code for all individual
Worldhotels member hotels that do not belong to either the Stamford
Hotels & Resorts chain (code YS) or the Steigenberger Hotel
Group chain (code SR).
Worldhotels
estimated some 400 of its individual property members would switch
from the SR code to the WW code.
The addition of the
WW code culminates a rebranding project that Worldhotels,
previously know as SRS-Worldhotels, launched in November 2004 when
it established EW as the companys GDS Master Chain Code.
The establishment
of the WW chain code is one of the final pieces in the puzzle to
complete the Worldhotels brand, said Michael Ball, Worldhotels CEO.
Worldhotels is mounting a comprehensive communications campaign to
ensure a smooth transition, solidify our global character, assure
global distribution and provide travel agents easy access to our
portfolio of member hotels.
Worldhotels
continues to represent the Steigenberger Hotel Group and Stamford
Hotels & Resorts. It said that about 70 Steigenberger
properties will retain the SR chain code, while Stamford properties
will keep the YS chain code.
Worldhotels said
its EW, which stands for Exclusive Worldhotels, covers all three
codes -- WW, SR and YS -- through all major GDSs.
