CORRECTED: Expedia launches program for U.S. agents

|

Expedia is launching a travel agent affiliate program that pays commissions on hotel and package bookings.

The program is an extension of an Expedia program already in place in Europe and Asia, and comes just a few months after Orbitz unveiled its Orbitzforagents.com website.

Both programs pay agents 10% commission on hotel bookings. Orbitz pays 4% on packages while Expedia said it will pay 5% on packages with at least three room nights, and 3% on packages with less than three room nights.

Expedia will pay 10% on activities.

After June 30, agents who want to join Expedia's program will have to pay a one-time fee of $50. Orbitz has no membership fee.
