Contiki Vacations will be merging its sales team with sister brand Trafalgar Tours, according to parent company the Travel Corporation.
As part of the transition, Mark Junette, vice president of sales at Contiki, will step down effective June 1. Michelle Murray, Contiki's director of marketing, will move into the role of director of marketing and key accounts at Contiki.
Of Contiki's existing sales staff of four, all are staying on. Two will be joining the Trafalgar sales team and two are being reassigned within Contiki, according to Contiki President Greg Fischbein.
Over the coming months, the Trafalgar and Contiki sales teams will cross-train to prepare for the upcoming selling season, which starts in late summer with the launch of a new brochure, TravCorp said in a release.
Contiki targets travelers ages 18 to 35. Trafalgar's main demographic is the 55-to-65 set.
"It is our goal to increase the level of agent support for the Contiki product by increasing the reach of our sales force and incorporating the Contiki product line into all of our sales activities," Paul Wiseman, president of Trafalgar, said in a statement.
Trafalgar and Contiki will remain separate business units within TravCorp, each with executive sales, marketing and reservations departments, which will continue to support trade partners with specialized initiatives that speak to their respective demographics, TravCorp said.
