Seattle-based culinary tour operator Access Trips is
launching its first travel agent product line, offering a 10% commission on
food-centric trips to Peru, Thailand, Morocco, Cuba and Thailand.
Recommended by Fodor’s as a top tour operator for Cuba,
Access runs tours focused on immersion in local cultures through their cuisine. In
Cuba that takes the form of a daiquiri-mixing class, tapas in a local’s home
and visiting a tobacco farm. In Vietnam, guests tour local markets then use the
bounty in a cooking class, and in Peru, they sip potent pisco and learn to
prepare ceviche.
To introduce and promote the product line to agents, Access
has hired Teresa Costa as director of travel agency sales and marketing. An
industry veteran, Costa has long had her own agency, La Costa Vacations, and
previously worked for Classic Vacations as a regional sales manager.
“Access Trips is not just a culinary tour company, but an
unprecedented avenue for clients to discover a new culture through its
cuisine,” said Costa. “We are ready and eager to forge partnerships with agents
that will not only build their knowledge, but also help them grow their business.”
