Richard Launder, formerly president of The Travel
Corporation USA, has been named president and CEO of the company's destination
management company, Destination America.
Launder started his career with TTC in the 1980s when he was
a trip manager for TTC's youth trravel brand Contiki. He was then promoted to
lead Contiki USA for many years, and in the late 1990s he served as president
of Destination America for four years. He was then promoted to president of TTC
USA in 2005.
Madhvi Buch, who had been serving as CEO of Destination
America since 2014, has been promoted to senior vice president of TTC USA.
Destination America operates the ground services for TTC
brands Trafalgar, Insight Vacations, Luxury Gold, and CostSaver, as well as for
many third parties in North, Central, and South America.
For the time being, Travel Corporation CEO Brett Tollman
will take on leadership and direction of TTC USA, and will spend more time in
California to support the executive USA team there, including Ellen Bettridge,
president and CEO of Uniworld Boutique River Cruises and U by Uniworld; Melissa
da Silva, president, Trafalgar, CostSaver and Brendan Vacations; Jon Grutzner,
president of Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold; Adam Cooper, president of
Contiki; and Sherwin Banda, president of African Travel.
Guy Young, who serves as TTC USA's chief engagement officer,
will take the lead on the company's trade relationships in the USA.
