Tauck Word Discovery said it is seeing greater interest in far-flung destinations, and in response is adding Morocco to its Africa tour roster.

The new nine-day Morocco itinerary includes stops in Casablanca, Rabat, Volubilis, Fez and Marrakech. Accommodations include the Hyatt Regency Casablanca and the Sofitel Marrakech.

Highlights include a traditional tea ceremony during a private home visit with a Berber family, an indoor-garden dinner and a ride through Marrakech in a horse-drawn carriage.

There are 14 scheduled departures in January through April and September through November.

Prices range from $2,830 to $5,078 per person, land only. The price includes lodging, 21 meals, airport transfers, all sightseeing and entertainment, admission fees, gratuities to local guides service charges and taxes.

Bookings for Tauck’s Exotics collection for 2009 are running ahead of bookings from two years ago by 80%, the company said. Tauck’s 2009 Exotics collection will include 27 itineraries in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the South Pacific.

In addition to Morocco, Tauck operates Africa tours in Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana.

Tauck is accepting bookings for the new Morocco itinerary. Agents can call (800) 468-2825.
