For its 2018 collection of Tauck Bridges family trips, Tauck has created a print brochure for kids and has partnered with airlines to offer a 50% discount on Europe fares for travelers age 12 and under.

Tauck's 56-page kid-focused brochure features bright graphics, fun fonts and playfully worded text. Rather than conventional day-by-day itineraries, each Bridges trip is described with a combination of a word cloud of included experiences, destination-related factoids, an activity highlight and a fun feature about one of the hotels.

The brochure was created to inspire and excite younger travelers early in the travel-planning process, according to Julia O'Brien, Tauck's senior brand manager for land journeys.

Tauck produces brochure just for kids

"Parents or grandparents can use the brochure to solicit kids' input and involve them in deciding which trip to take, or if the adults prefer to make that decision themselves, they can use the brochure to build interest and excitement in the upcoming journey," said O'Brien.

The trips are divided into three categories of interest: Animal Encounters (itineraries in Africa, Latin America and Alaska where wildlife features prominently), Natural Wonders (trips that focus around outdoor landscapes and adventures), and Landmark Sites (trips that feature a lot of cultural icons, such as in Europe).

The brochure also contains a Q&A interview with a young traveler who has been on three Bridges journeys (to Europe, Costa Rica and the American Southwest) and brief profiles on several of the Tauck tour guides who lead Bridges trips.

Tauck's first kids-only brochure was tested last year, when it was introduced as a digital publication. This year, it was released in print, as well.

Tauck is offering 50% off the price of economy air to Europe for children age 12 and under. Flights must be booked in conjunction with a Tauck Bridges European land journey or river cruise.

"We know from our guests that high airfares to Europe can be a real obstacle for families," stated Tauck CEO Dan Mahar.

Tauck has 19 Bridges journeys for 2018 in Europe, North America, Latin America and Africa. Ten Bridges trips -- six land tours plus river cruises on the Danube, Rhine, Rhone and Seine -- are eligible for the reduced airfares. To qualify for the lower fares, bookings must be made and deposited by Dec. 29, 2017.
