FORT LAUDERDALE — Agents attending Travel Weekly's CruiseWorld learned about two air booking tools that VAX VacationAccess recently introduced.
They are VAX Published Air and VAX Consolidator Air. Agents can book stand-alone air with both tools, and they don't need an ARC number to do it.
VAX presented and demonstrated the tools at the exhibitor showcase on Thursday.
VAX Published Air allows agents to shop and book scheduled airlines.
VAX Consolidator Air, powered by Trip Pro, enables agents to compare net and published fares for economy, premium economy, business class and first class.
Agents may add a fee to published and consolidator fares.
This is the first time that agents have been able to sell stand-alone air in VAX, according to Noel Fitzgerald, VAX's director of agency and supplier relationships.
Agents can continue to sell air as part of hotel and cruise packages.
