Routehappy has entered into an agreement with Kayak that enables Kayak to display
flight amenities in its search results.
Routehappy
ranks flights according to the amenities they provide, and data from its Scores & Amenities
application program interface (API) will be integrated into Kayak search
results. That data includes information on the aircraft, seats, layout, WiFi,
entertainment, power outlets and food.
Amenities
information is displayed in the form of small icons in the search results. When
a user hovers over the icons, a pop-up window provides more information.
Further flight details can be accessed by clicking a link in the pop-up window.
For
instance, a plug image denotes that in-seat power is provided on a flight. The
pop-up window tells the user that it’s available on both the departing and
returning flights in question. The further details section informs the user
that seats are equipped with both power and USB outlets.
According
to Routehappy, it has data on almost every flight worldwide. The company
regularly researches amenities by aircraft, cabin, schedule and route.
