Sabre has created a new organization, Travel Solutions, that encompasses its Travel Network, Airline Solutions and data and analytics solutions units.

"Travel Solutions represents the natural evolution of Sabre's strategy to unify efforts across all channels of retailing, distribution and fulfillment to better serve customers, drive innovation and accelerate the development of next-generation and NDC-enabled solutions," Sabre said in a statement.

Hospitality Solutions remains a standalone business unit from Travel Solutions.

Dave Shirk, previously the head of Airline Solutions, has been promoted to executive vice president and president of Travel Solutions.

Wade Jones, executive vice president and president of Travel Network, will report to Shirk and maintain his current role.

Sabre is looking for Shirk's replacement in Airline Solutions, and is also seeking a leader for its data and analytics solutions. Both of those heads will report to Shirk.

In addition to changes spurred by the creation of Travel Solutions, Sabre also announced several new hires.

Sundar Narasimhan, most recently Google's director of engineering, will join Sabre as senior vice president and president of Sabre Labs and product strategy starting on July 30. Narasimhan will report to president and CEO Sean Menke.

Louis Selincourt, most recently co-founder and managing partner at Better Faster Further, was named senior vice president of global development centers. He will also report to Menke.

Menke said the new hires are "bolstering our technology leadership team with additional expertise to further accelerate innovation."

Joe DiFonzo remains chief information officer, while Vish Saoji remains chief technology officer.
