MADRID, Spain -- Northern Europe ferry giant Stena Line inked a
deal to distribute product via the Amadeus Ferry online booking
tool from GDS provider Amadeus.
The new Internet browser-based tool, also compatible with
Amadeus' front-end GDS systems, employs a user-friendly interface
that eases booking and minimizes training for travel agents,
regardless of GDS affiliation, said Amadeus.
Amadeus Ferry also enables "handling of travel agency specific
negotiated or promotional rates," according to the Madrid-based
technology provider.
Stena Line's 32 vessels last year carried 13.5 million
passengers on 16 routes to and from Scandinavia and the British
Isles.
The company, which also signed a co-marketing agreement with
Amadeus, joins Corsica Sardinia Ferries, Brittany Ferries,
Seafrance and several other European ferry lines already using in
the system.
