Couples Tower Isle in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, welcomed a Jenkintown, Penn., couple when they arrived this month -- for their 93rd stay at the resort.
For more than three decades, Fred and Cynthia Pennekamp have traveled to Jamaica, often several times a year, staying at one of the four luxury all-inclusive Couples Resorts in Negril and Ocho Rios, for a total of more than 1,000 nights.
Fred Pennekamp said that their travel agent suggested the resort back in 1982. "From our first day we knew we were coming back," he said.
"The staff is amazing, well-trained and attentive, and along with the secluded private beaches and wonderful guests that we meet who become lifelong friends, our vacation choice always is obvious," he said.
"While it is an honor to celebrate this milestone with the Pennekamps, we often hear similar stories," said Dean Sullivan, vice president of sales and marketing. "Our brand of warmth, luxury and barefoot elegance is unique and opposite of many much larger all-inclusive offerings that have popped up in recent years."
Sullivan said that it is repeat guests like the Pennekamps who become "lifelong ambassadors and keep us at the forefront of the Caribbean's luxury all-inclusive market."
The 226-room Couples Tower Isle opened in 1949 as the Tower Isle Hotel, Jamaica's first year-round beach resort. The name later became Couples Ocho Rios but reverted back to the Tower Isle moniker following a major renovation in 2008.
