The official start of the Caribbean Tourism Organization's Sustainable Tourism Conference in St. Vincent has been pushed back one day to Wednesday, Aug. 28, due to flight cancellations as a result of Tropical Storm Dorian, which formed in the eastern Caribbean on Aug. 23.
The conference was originally slated for Aug. 27 to 29. General sessions now will take place on Aug. 28 and 29; study tours will proceed as scheduled on Aug. 30.
The storm could develop into a brief hurricane by midweek and then dissipate quickly, depending upon the path it takes, according to the National Hurricane Center.
Tropical storm warnings have been posted for Barbados, St. Lucia, Grenada and Martinique in addition to St. Vincent.
