Uber has launched operations in Barbados, marking the company's entry into the Eastern Caribbean. Users can now request rides through the Uber app using Uber taxi, which connects users directly with licensed local taxi drivers.

Barbados is also the first destination in the Caribbean to introduce Uber Hourly, enabling riders to hire a driver by the hour for flexible, multistop trips around the island. The Uber Reserve feature lets users schedule rides up to 90 days in advance.

Uber Taxi's model has already been used in other Caribbean markets, including the Dominican Republic. The platform includes more than 30 built-in safety features, such as PIN verification, trip sharing and audio recording options.
