Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line will offer a unique four-day
cruise to Cuba in February that will let Cubans in Havana board the ship and
sail on a mini-cruise with friends and family from the U.S.
The cruise, which is being organized in partnership with
Coral Gables, Fla.-based Viva Travel, will offer "locally-inspired cuisine
and entertainment," as well as access to exclusive ocean concerts by Latin
bands Los Cuatro, Laritza Bacallao, and La Pantoja.
Offered on the line's Grand Classica ship, the cruise will
depart Palm Beach on Feb. 14 and arrive in Havana at 7 a.m. on Feb. 15. During
a 10-hour port stay, friends and family of guests on the cruise who live in
Cuba will be able to board.
The ship will sail at 5 p.m. and stay at sea on Feb. 16 for
an open-ocean concert, returning to port at 7 a.m. on Feb. 17 for another day
in Havana. It is scheduled to depart Havana at 3 p.m. and return to Palm Beach
at 8 a.m. on Feb. 18.
The cruise starts at $699 per person. Guests boarding in
Cuba will be charged $599 per person, Bahamas Paradise said.
