Bud Darr, CLIA's senior vice president of technical and
regulatory affairs, will leave CLIA to assume a new role with MSC Group as
executive vice president, maritime policy and government affairs.
"Bud has been with CLIA for over six years and has been
instrumental in helping build a solid foundation of knowledge, support and
respect for the cruise industry in the areas of technical and regulatory
affairs," said Cindy D'Aoust, CLIA's president and CEO.
Until his departure, Darr will be involved in ensuring an effective
transition at CLIA.
In his new role, Darr will hold global responsibilities for
MSC's business interests, including container shipping and cruising. Establishing
and developing a central government affairs function at MSC's headquarters in
Geneva, Switzerland, will be among his key priorities.
