Emerald Princess: The official name of Caribbean Princess III

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. -- Emerald Princess, which was formerly known as the Caribbean Princess III, will be the name of the sister ship to Princess Cruises' Caribbean Princess.

The 116,000-ton Emerald Princess, Princess' largest ship design to date, is currently under construction at Fincantieri shipyards in Italy and will be delivered in spring 2006.

The Emerald, while technically a Grand-class ship, is larger and will include design features that are different from the Grand Princess. The Emerald also will have different interior features than its sister, the Caribbean Princess, including more food venues and a different layout for some of its bars and restaurants.
