Holland America Line is offering two cancellation protection plans, enabling guests to cancel their cruise for any reason and receive a refund of up to 90% of the fare paid.

Guests now have the option to cancel up to 24 hours prior to departure with the standard plan and right up to the departure with the platinum plan.

The standard plan reimburses guests 80% of the fare, plus an additional $500 liability (for a total of $600) for lost, damaged or delayed baggage.

The platinum policy reimburses 90% of the fare; pays up to $1,600 for lost or damaged baggage and $1,100 for delayed baggage; trip interruption protection; and trip delay coverage.

The protection plans must be purchased at the time of deposit; cost varies by cruise fare and is non-refundable. For example, on a seven-day Caribbean cruise priced at $1,000 per person, the plans would be priced at $79 for standard and $99 for platinum.
