Norwegian Cruise Line has canceled the inaugural voyage for the Norwegian Prima. The Aug. 17 voyage was to depart from Amsterdam.

An NCL spokesman cited supply-chain issues as the reason for the delay.

There were no further changes to the Prima's inaugural season. "We apologized for the inconvenience to our guests and appreciate their understanding," the spokesman said.

The 3,215-passenger Prima is the first in a new class of ships and will feature a three-level go kart, a drop slide, a sculpture garden and expanded outdoor spaces.

According to an NCL spokesman, guests on the canceled cruise will receive a full refund that will automatically be returned to the original form of payment. In addition, it is offering passengers a 25% future cruise credit that can be used through May 2, 2023, and can be applied towards any sailings through Dec. 31, 2023.
