Galveston Wharves and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings have inked a 10-year contract (with renewal options) to use a new terminal at the port.

The $100 million terminal is expected to open in November 2025. It is the same terminal that MSC Cruises will use when that line begins operating cruises from Galveston on the MSC Seascape. The Texas port broke ground in August to convert an existing cargo warehouse into Galveston's fourth cruise terminal.

With the new agreement, Norwegian Cruise Line will homeport in Galveston full-time after three years of seasonal sailings. NCLH said that sister ships Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva will sail Western Caribbean itineraries from Galveston.

Also, NCLH said there could be opportunities for its other two brands -- Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises -- to schedule Galveston departures.
