After just a handful of cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line has converted its Jimmy Buffett-themed restaurant on Norwegian Escape to a la carte pricing.

Margaritaville at Sea started out as complimentary dining. Beginning with the Nov. 28 voyage, however, the menu has prices. The signature Cheeseburger in Paradise is now $6.99, as is a chicken quesadilla. The Key West Fish Sandwich is $8.99.

In a statement, Norwegian said the restaurant has been “extremely popular” and attributed the decision to begin charging to "guest feedback about the overwhelming demand.”

The eatery, which operates in partnership with tropical rocker Jimmy Buffett, is located in the same space on Norwegian Escape that is occupied by Uptown Bar & Grill on Norwegian Breakaway and Flamingo Bar & Grill on Norwegian Getaway.

Many but not all of the specialty restaurants on Norwegian have moved to a la carte pricing in the past month.

Norwegian expects to have a Margaritaville attraction at its Harvest Caye resort in Belize when it opens in February.
