Carnival Corp. elected Admiral Jonathon Band, recently retired First Sea Lord and chief of naval staff of the British Navy, to its board of directors.
Band served in the British Navy for 42 years. He was appointed First Sea Lord and chief of naval staff, the most senior officer position in the navy, in 2006.
Micky Arison, Carnival Corp.’s CEO, said that Band "is an excellent addition to our board, possessing extensive experience in myriad maritime issues from his distinguished career."
Richard Capen is retiring from the 14-member board after 16 years of service, Carnival said.
