Three Carnival ships to get more balcony rooms

Carnival over the next few months will take three ships out of service to add cabins with balconies.

A total of 48 cabins on the Carnival Destiny, Carnival Triumph and Carnival Liberty will be retrofitted with balconies. These cabins currently feature floor-to-ceiling windows.

"Balcony staterooms continue to be in great demand. In fact, they're often the first cabin category to sell out," said Ruben Rodriguez, Carnival's executive vice president of marketing and guest experience.

Also, two 750-square-foot "deluxe penthouse suites," will be added to the Carnival Liberty. Deluxe penthouse suites have a separate bedroom, a living room and two full bathrooms. They can accommodate up to five passengers.
