Duxbury, Mass.-based French Country Waterways rolled out a rare savings offer on two of its 12-passenger luxury barge sailings departing June 6: the recently renovated Nenuphar and the all-suite Adrienne.

The two-for-one deal changes regular fares of $6,095 to $6,295 per person, double, to $6,095 to $6,295 per couple, a savings of more than $6,000.

It's capacity-limited, but imagine what a hero you'll be to clients who've just decided to take the plunge and visit Europe this spring. With all the talk about the last-minute booking trend continuing unabated, surely there are clients who fit this bill.

The Nenuphar sails the Canal de Bourgogne in Burgundy's fabled Cote d'Or wine-growing region, following the narrow 18th century Canal du Centre overlooking vineyards of the Cote de Beaune, the meandering River Saone and the Canal de Bourgogne between St. Leger-sur-Dheune and Dijon. Adrienne sails the Champagne region, cruising between Maizy and Chateau-Thierry on the Canal Lateral a la Marne, Canal de l'Aisne a la Marne and the Marne River.

Highlights include tours of towns and villages along the canals, private wine tastings in well-known vineyards and private cellars, excursions to historical sites and cathedrals, free time for shopping or riding bikes along the canal paths and dinners at Michelin-starred restaurants.
