Austrian Airlines is poised to begin nonstop flight service from Boston to Vienna starting March 29.

Initially, Austrian will operate four weekly flights between Boston Logan and Vienna, increasing to six flights a week from mid-April.

The service will be aboard a Boeing 767-300ER equipped with 211 seats.

The carrier will join Lufthansa and Swiss Air in Boston, giving New England travelers access to all Lufthansa Group main hub airlines next year.

Capacity in the New England market will be further expanded in the summer 2020 season with the introduction of Lufthansa's 509-seat Airbus A380 on its Boston-Munich route.
