There were no night trains on our Eurail itinerary, so several hotels along the way offered a good night's sleep after days filled with traveling and tours.
They included the Hub by Premier Inn London King's Cross, which, as its name suggests, is mere steps from the King's Cross railway station (home to the Platform 9 3/4 of "Harry Potter" lore) and, importantly for Eurail travelers, the adjacent St. Pancras station. Rates begin at about $200 per night.
Similarly convenient is the Rotterdam Marriott, directly across from the city's central rail station. Rates start at about $140 per night at the hotel, which is home to the Michelin-starred Millen restaurant.
In Antwerp, the Lindner WTC Hotel & City Lounge was a 10-minute walk from the city's rail station and a short walk to Antwerp's historical center. Rates begin at about $120 per night.
The Ibis Gent Centrum St. Baafs Kathedraal Hotel wasn't within walking distance of the rail station, but the hotel's location near its eponymous cathedral and square proved ideal for exploring Ghent's historical center. Rates start at about $90 in low season and go up to about $180 in high season.
