The Savoy Palace, the only Leading Hotels of the World affiliate on the Portuguese archipelago of Madeira, opened July 1 in the capital city of Funchal.
Built on the site of the former Savoy Hotel, the new five-star property consists of 352 rooms and suites and features a rooftop lounge with panoramic views, terraced gardens, meetings spaces, multiple pools, several restaurants and bars and a boutique hotel-within-a-hotel, offering penthouse accommodations.
The property was designed by Saraiva + Associados in collaboration with Madeira-based interior designer Nini Andrade Silva.
Highlights include the 33,000-square-foot spa, featuring 11 treatment rooms, a halo therapy room, sensory showers, ice fountain, Turkish hammam and salon.
Savoy Palace is located about 20 minutes from the Madeira Airport.
Rates start at $225, double.
