La Chiusa, an 18-room boutique hotel with an on-site Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany, reopened this month following a renovation.
The hilltop property dates to the 1300s and has been at various times a watchtower, an olive oil mill and, since 1978, La Chiusa hotel.
Purchased by George and Linda Meyers in the fall of 2018, the hotel was closed and extensively renovated prior to its reopening in May.
Surrounded by a mature olive grove with more than 900 trees, the property uses the oil in its garden-to-table restaurant under the direction of executive chef Allesandro Goracci from Tuscany.
Travelers can book private cooking classes with Goracci in the hotel kitchen or take in a more intensive, weeklong Cook in Tuscany experience with the chef.
Rates at La Chiusa range from $128 per night, double, to $278 for a deluxe family room with a terrace. Daily buffet breakfast is included.
La Chiusa is centrally located in Tuscany, about an hour and 40 minutes from Florence.
