Florence-based Starhotels is poised to open Teatro Luxury Apartments Firenze - Starhotels Collezione on Oct. 1.
The property will feature 156 apartment-style residences designed for both short- and long-term stays. Located on Via Magenta, the hotel is steps from Santa Maria Novella and the Lungarni, Florence's riverfront promenades along the Arno.
Inaugurated in 1862 as the Politeama Fiorentino theatre — the property once hosted such well-known artists as Maria Callas and Franco Zeffirelli — the renovation blends its original 19th century design elements with art deco influences and a contemporary Italian aesthetic.
Accommodations range from studios to three bedrooms and feature such amenities as panoramic city views, balconies, terraces, designer showers and hammams.
Family-friendly luxury
The property welcomes young guests with its V.I.K. (Very Important Kids) Family Program that includes multibedroom apartments and amenities such as welcome gifts, baby gear and toys.
Amenities also include communal lounges; a panoramic terrace with solarium and hydropool; and a menu of Signature Experiences, including hot-air balloon rides over the Tuscan hills, Ferrari drives along scenic routes and private wine tastings.
Guests also have access to the Circolo del Tennis Firenze 1898, including clay tennis and paddle courts, an outdoor swimming pool, a restaurant and private club facilities.
