YTL Hotels is marking the debut of the Academy Hotel in London after a multimillion-dollar interior redesign by New York-based firm Champalimaud Design.
Located in Bloomsbury in London's West End, the hotel is the latest addition to YTL Hotels' U.K. portfolio.
The property is the result of the conversion of five Georgian townhouses into 50 guestrooms, outfitted with high ceilings, en-suite marble bathrooms and king-size beds.
Furnishings are a blend of historical and contemporary, and room categories are Bloomsbury Double, Townhouse Twin and Townhouse Single.
Other features include a library, designed as homage to Bloomsbury's literary tradition; the Alchemy Bar; the Courtyard, which serves afternoon tea; and the Refectory, for traditional English breakfasts.
The Academy is part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection and is the sister property to the the Gainsborough Bath Spa, also in the U.K.
