The Battleship Missouri Memorial launched two new upgraded tours this year: the Captain's Tour and the Chief Engineer's Tour. Each gives visitors a look at spaces that were not publicly accessible before.

"Our new tours are truly one-of-a-kind and always leave our guests with a deeper appreciation for our military service members who served onboard the iconic battleship," said Mike Carr, CEO of the USS Missouri Memorial Association.

The Captain's Tour walks guests in the footsteps of the battleship's commanding officers, including their cabin, the ship's weapons system, navigation bridge and the inside of a gun turret. The Chief Engineer's Tour teaches guests about what their role on the ship was, which included commanding more than 500 sailors. Stops include a fire room, engine room and aft plotting room.

The new tours are meant to be intimate experiences with no more than 10 visitors at a time and runs about 45 minutes each. Each tour can be added to a general admission ticket for an additional $30 per person.
