"Through this exhibition, we honor Hawaii's rich arts and culture, and hope to promote arts resilience in our community," said Marques Hanalei Marzan, exhibition curator and the Bishop Museum's cultural advisor, in a news release.

The exhibition explores the genealogy of Hawaiian artistry by highlighting 13 artists and the connection between teacher and student. Artwork displayed includes decorated gourds, featherwork, visual design, barkcloth and toolmaking.
