An upcoming exhibit at the Bishop Museum in Honolulu explores the world of marine invertebrates.

"Spineless Wonders: Rising from the Deep," which begins Sept. 21 and runs through March 29, 2020, offers visitors a rare glimpse into the undersea world of marine invertebrates through both an artistic and scientific lens.

The exhibit includes images of marine invertebrates by nature photographer Susan Middleton, who specializes in the portraiture of rare and endangered species. Alongside the photos will be a display of the marine invertebrates from the museum's collections.

Additionally, there will be a presentation of the research being done by  the Bishop Museum and its collaborators in the ocean's mesophotic coral ecosystems, also which are found below depths of 120 feet.

The Bishop Museum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
