Hawaii's largest airline enjoyed an increase in passengers last month, transporting more than 1 million travelers in July, a year-over-year increase of 3.1%.

The carrier's load factor also improved, climbing 1.7 percentage points to 86.2%, according to figures released by Hawaiian Aug. 4.

Revenue producing miles, meanwhile, improved 6.4% to more than 1.4 billion.

Year to date through July, more than 6.4 million people have flown on Hawaiian Airlines flights, an increase of 4.1% over the same seven-month period in 2015, and the carrier's load factor has improved 2.7 percentage points to 83.4%.
