Hawaiian Airlines has a new check-in area at San Francisco Airport in a shared space with Alaska Airlines at Harvey Milk Terminal 1. It's the first airport co-location, and there are expected to be relocations at five other airports soon.

Alaska completed its $1.9 billion acquisition of Hawaiian in September, and the airlines are now part of Alaska Air Group.

"Hawaiian has flown to the Bay Area since 1986 and today serves the region's busiest airport with daily flights between SFO and Honolulu and Kahului (Maui) using its Airbus A330 and A321neo aircraft," Hawaiian Airlines said in a blog post. "Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines will operate a total of four daily flights between SFO and Hawaii this December."

Hawaiian and Alaska will similarly share space at Sacramento, Ontario, Phoenix, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. The relocations are all slated to be completed by the end of 2025.
