The Hilo Hawaiian Hotel, a bay-front Castle Resorts & Hotels property on Hawaii Island's east coast, has announced the completion of a $500,000 renovation to its swimming pool, ballroom and meeting room.

Upgrades at the 286-room Hilo hotel's oceanfront pool include new concrete, plastering and drains along with new poolside furniture.

Meanwhile, the property's Mokuola Ballroom and Mala Ikena Meeting Room received new carpeting, drapes and paint. Both venues feature views of Hilo Bay's Coconut Island, Mauna Kea and the Hamakua coastline.

Honolulu-based Castle Resorts & Hotels manages hotels, condominium resorts, luxury villas and vacation rentals on Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Molokai and Hawaii Island as well as in New Zealand.
