Hilton Hawaii Village Waikiki Beach Resort is in the midst of a renovation of its Tapa Tower.

The work will revamp guestrooms, suites and corridors of the tower, which opened in 1982. The newly redesigned rooms, dubbed the "Tapa Collection," feature patterns found in Hawaii's traditional tapa cloth.

The renovations are underway and are scheduled to be completed in phases, with some of the new guestrooms already available for booking.

The Tapa Collection offers furnished balconies and includes oceanview rooms, junior suites, one-bedroom suites and Tapa Family Rooms with two queen beds and a king bed. The tower also includes a statue, installed in 2006, dedicated to master tapa maker Puanani Van Dorpe and Lauhuki a me Laahana, the patron goddesses of tapa making.
