The Polynesian Cultural Center on Oahu relaunched its water show "Huki: A Canoe Celebration" at its freshwater lagoon. The performance was suspended since 2020 because of the pandemic.

"We are excited to bring back our beloved canoe celebration show at the PCC," P. Alfred Grace, CEO of the Polynesian Cultural Center, said in a news release. "Our team has been working hard to relaunch 'Huki,' which introduces our guests to the unique history and folklore of Polynesia and to ensures an elevated experience for all of our guests."

The show is completely new and showcases six distinct cultures of Polynesia. It's the only Hawaii show performed with double-hulled canoes. Huki means "to pull" in English. It can refer to the hukilau, when a group of people pull large nets with fish out of the water, or to the legendary story of the demigod Maui, who pulled the Islands out of the ocean.

The performance starts every day at 12:40 p.m.
