Sheraton Kauai Resort’s signature restaurant, RumFire Poipu Beach, will expand its charity program.

For six years the restaurant has donated all net food and beverage proceeds from Table 53, a private booth sporting unobstructed views of the ocean, with tips still going to the servers and taxes to the state. More than $235,000 has been donated to local causes.

Moving forward, rental proceeds from one poolside bungalow and one beachside cabana will be added to the program with a new charity chosen each month as the beneficiary.

The first recipient of a donation from all three sources was the Kauai Film Academy, a film club that provides professional filmmaking training and creative filmmaking opportunities for youth.

Bungalow 53 is a private, poolside bungalow with seating for six guests, flat-screen televisions and ceiling fans, available for rent daily ($150). Cabana 53 is a two-person shaded lounge chair with cushions adjacent to the beach also available to rent daily ($75).

Reservations for all three are recommended and can be made by calling (808) 742-1661.
