Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit is now offering its guests the "Wixaritari Journey," a private micro-adventure to visit the ancient holy site of Altavista, which is located in the hills of Nayarit.

The 15 petroglyphs were originally carved in volcanic stones, and each was meant as a calling to the gods. A member of the indigenous Huichol tribe leader guests to the 2,000-year-old rock carvings and guides them in nature culture and customs before the group participates in a spiritual ceremony.

Following the experience, guests will hop a catamaran in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle for lunch onboard and sailing around the Bay of Banderas. The experience costs $4,418 for up to 10 people.
