For the first time in history, the Tianguis Turistico will be held across two countries, with events taking place in both Baja California and San Diego. Scheduled for April 26-27, the event will feature free public programming, including "La Ventana de Mexico en San Diego" at Liberty Station in San Diego and "Gran Taco de Mexico," a culinary festival showcasing tacos from all 31 Mexican states and the federal district at the Tijuana Cultural Center.
Baja California's minister of tourism, Josefina Rodriguez Zamora, announced the event will be a "Tianguis for everyone," with activities inside and outside the convention center aimed at engaging the broader public, not just travel industry professionals. New features include the inaugural "Dialogue of Captains" and a focus on community tourism, including Baja California's participation in a new national initiative promoting local development.
Baja California Gov. Marina del Pilar confirmed that more than 1,150 buyers from 35 countries and 775 companies are registered to attend.
