Lemala Camps & Lodges officially opened the Lemala Osonjoi Lodge, its newest safari property positioned on the eastern rim of Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Crater. The launch completes the Lemala circuit of luxury lodges across Northern Tanzania.
Set at an altitude of 8,000 feet, Osonjoi comprises 16 suites and two two-bedroom family units. All accommodations feature king-size beds as well as large windows for expansive crater and highland views. Interiors blend contemporary African design with Nordic touches, and slow-burn wood stoves provide warmth in the cooler upland climate.
Notable features
The lodge’s main areas include a lounge, bar, outdoor viewing deck and a secluded Forest Spa. Notably, Lemala said Osonjoi is home to the only indoor heated swimming pool in the Ngorongoro region. The property operates fully off-grid using solar power.
Located just 10 minutes from the Lemala Gate to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the property provides fast, priority access to the crater floor. This enables guests to be among the first to enter each morning and last to leave in the evening, delivering an unhurried safari experience. Activities on offer include daily game drives as well as escorted nature walks with Masai guides.
Rates start from $690 per person, double, per day, including accommodation, all meals, house drinks, WiFi and laundry. It excludes park fees and transfers.
