Safari operator WildPlaces Africa has expanded its Ugandan portfolio with the opening of Kulu Ora, an 11-suite luxury lodge situated on the banks of the River Nile in Murchison Falls National Park.
The property is located within a newly designated 75,000-hectare low-impact zone that is shared with only one other camp. This exclusive access allows advisors to offer clients crowd-free game viewing and activities not typically permitted in standard national park areas, such as night drives and secluded bush meals.
The camp features 11 canvas-walled suites, including a two-bedroom unit designed for families or small groups. Each suite includes a private plunge pool, copper bathtubs and views of the Nile. The fully solar-powered property also features a main lap pool, a spa offering locally sourced treatments, and an onsite walled garden that supplies the kitchen.
Activities focus on the region's diverse wildlife, including traditional game drives, birding and fishing on the Nile, and guided walking safaris.
For travel advisors, the property provides a high-end, big-game safari option that pairs easily with Uganda's popular gorilla trekking itineraries in the south.
Kulu Ora is accessible via scheduled or private charter flights from Entebbe International Airport, or via a five-hour drive from Kampala. Rates start at $990 per person, per night, based on double occupancy. A $25 per-night conservation levy is applied to all stays to fund local community and park preservation projects.
