RwandAir, the national flag carrier of the Republic of Rwanda, announced it is looking to introduce flights to New York in 2017 as part of the airline's ambitious international expansion plans.
A date for the launch has not been determined.
The airline recently took delivery of its second Airbus A330 (300 series) at the Airbus delivery center in Toulouse, France. "We are proudly reaffirming our plans for long-haul operations connecting Rwanda, the region and the continent to the rest of the world," said John Mirenge, RwandAir's CEO.
Mirenge added that RwandAir's fleet expansion would enable the airline to launch more destinations in 2017, including flights to Mumbai; London; Lilongwe, Mllawi; Bamako, Mali; Conakry, Guinea.
