Nearly 270 MAST members and preferred suppliers attended the 2015 MAST Conference in May in Seattle. KIE/Kintetsu International President Koji Hamada welcomes attendees to the company’s sixth annual KIE Travel Showcase at the new Marriott Central Park. More than 200 KIE clients and over 50 of its preferred travel partners attended the event.

The newly opened, ecofriendly property, 1 Hotel South Beach held a Miami Beach Clean-Up event. The hotel’s staff worked alongside its guests, neighbors and event partners, Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science and its Museum Volunteers for the Environment, to collect over a thousand pieces of litter. Singer Robin Thicke performed at the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel as part of its “Happiest Hour” event to mark the unveiling of the property’s extensive renovation. The hotel on the banks of the Chicago River received a face-lift to its 520 guestrooms and 40 suites as well as its lobby, Elite Club Lounge, Artist Studio, Staytion Market and Bar and the Library.

A “vine-cutting ceremony” was conducted at the Ivy Hotel, a 19th century mansion-turned-hotel near Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Among those in attendance for the event were, from left, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.); Bernard C. “Jack” Young, president of the Baltimore City Council; Ivy Hotel owners Sylvia Brown, Jennifer Brown and Eddie Brown; hotel Managing Director David Garrett; owners Marty Azola, Kirsten Azola, Lone Azola and Tony Azola; Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake; and Ivy Hotel General Manager Rob Arthur.

The David InterContinental Tel Aviv hosted 45 general managers of the top European InterContinental Hotels & Resorts properties from Europe for a conference. It is the first time Israel has been chosen for the confab. Among those attending the opening ceremony were, from left, Didier Boidin, vice president, Europe luxury and boutique hotels operations; Henry Taic, owner of the InterContinental David Tel Aviv; Angela Brav, regional CEO, Europe; and David Cohen, general manager of the InterContinental David Tel Aviv.

Dominican Republic President Danilo Medina Sanchez and other dignitaries joined AMResorts and Apple Leisure Group executives for Now Onyx Punta Cana’s groundbreaking ceremony.
