Signup deadline approaches for CruiseWorld ship inspections

Friday, Oct. 20, is the last day for CruiseWorld attendees to register for the show's ship inspections, which take place Nov. 18 and 19 in Miami and Fort Lauderdale.

Agents can schedule one inspection each day, and transportation to the ports on Nov. 18 and 19 is included in the conference registration rate.

Options on Nov. 18 include the MSC Divina, Carnival Vista and Norwegian Escape in Miami, and Holland America Line's Nieuw Amsterdam, and Royal Caribbean International's Harmony of the Seas in Fort Lauderdale. The Nov. 19 inspections include the Celebrity Silhouette and Norwegian Getaway in Miami, and Holland America's Koningsdam and Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas in Fort Lauderdale.

An additional inspection, Oceania's Insignia, for STAR Program attendees on Tuesday, Nov. 14, is already sold out.

Those agents interested in completing ship inspections during the conference must register before midnight, Eastern time, on Oct. 20.

This selection of ships provides attendees a chance to tour the ships and sample their food and to share their experience through photos and personal observations.

"Nearly 10 million cruise passengers sail out of these two ports in a year, representing the largest cruise market in the world," said Alicia Evanko, senior vice president of the Northstar Travel Group events division, which produces CruiseWorld. "We are so thrilled to offer our attendees the opportunity to see this selection of ships and enable them to better sell the booming cruise market."

CruiseWorld, which takes place Nov. 15 to 17 in Fort Lauderdale, will gather more than 1,000 members of the travel industry to talk about trends for 2018 and beyond during the last travel agency event of the year.

Discounted registration is available through Nov. 1, after which rates increase to $249 for full conference access.

The show will include updates on global cruising, tours and destinations. Attendees will be able to choose from dozens of breakout sessions, supplier training options and certification programs. The one-day Exhibitor Showcase will welcome more than 150 suppliers representing air, car, hotel, cruise, destination, host agency, consortia and business services.

Attendees can earn 25 CLIA credits, get Special Needs Group certification and Hawaii Specialist certification, undergo Travel Institute training and gain hands-on workshop training from nearly a dozen suppliers, including VAX Vacation Access, CCRA, Holland America Line, Carnival Cruise Line, Greater Fort Lauderdale, Israel Ministry of Tourism, Visit Anchorage, Avalon Waterways and Riviera River Cruises.

A series of tracks of peer workshops on Nov. 17 offer attendees the opportunity to focus on a specific growth area or mix and match however they please. Tracks include Customer Acquisition, Growth Markets, Marketing and Sales, and Business Boost.
