Adele postponed her highly anticipated Las Vegas residency just one day before opening night.
The English singer and songwriter was scheduled to perform two shows each weekend from Jan. 21 through April 16 at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
“Listen, I’m so sorry, but my show ain’t ready,” she said in a tearful video posted on Thursday. “We’ve tried absolutely everything that we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you, but we’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid.”
She said that half of her crew is dealing with the virus, apologized to her fans for the last-minute announcement and said the shows would be rescheduled.
Ticketholders should go to Ticketmaster for refund and rescheduling information. Demand was so high that tickets to all performances sold out through Ticketmaster's Verified Fan process before becoming more widely available to the public.
Caesars Palace issued a statement supporting the Grammy Award winner’s decision.
“We understand the disappointment surrounding the postponement of ‘Weekends with Adele.’ Adele is an incredible artist, supremely dedicated to her music and her fans. Creating a show of this magnitude is incredibly complex,” Caesars said.
