Las Vegas' makeover as a gamer mecca and hub of the booming esports industry continues this month with a new competition. Amazon is bringing its Mobile Masters series to downtown's Millennial Esports Arena at Neonopolis Oct. 14-15.
The 15,000-square-foot venue, which opened earlier this year and is explicitly dedicated to esports, will host professional gaming teams battling in mobile titles like "World of Tank Blitz," "Critical Ops" and "Power Rangers: Legacy Wars." And lest you confuse esports with casual video gaming on the couch, $80,000 in prize money is on the line.
Attendance at Mobile Masters Las Vegas is free, and the tournament will also be broadcast live on Amazon Appstore's Twitch channel.
