Allowing and encouraging guests to bring their pet on vacation is a hot trend in travel, and the Banana Bay Resort & Marina in Marathon is introducing pet-friendly offerings as it reopens following Hurricane Irma.

The pet-friendly program at the resort welcomes both long- and short-term stays. Guestrooms will feature food and water bowls, a plush bed and toys. If guests wish to bring their pet with them to the resort, they must provide notification upon reservation and pay a nonrefundable cleaning fee ($65 for up to six nights, $130 for seven or more nights) at check-in. Dogs must weigh less than 65 pounds in order to stay at the resort.

The 59 suites located on 10 acres along the Gulf Coast now also offers watersports, thanks to a partnership with Better Than Most Water Sports. Guests can participate in kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and diving and snorkeling trips as well as book spots on sunset cruises from the resort.

Rates at the Banana Bay Resort & Marina start at $139 per night on weeknights and $189 for weekends.
